Butterfly Gardens

Badgers attended the Butterfly Gardens at Middleton Farm today, and got to see a whole range of tropical butterflies. To link with our science topic of life cycles, we hunted for eggs and caterpillars around the tunnel. We were surprised at how tiny the caterpillars were when they had just hatched! The children were all very brave with so many butterflies flying around them, and many of them even held the leaf bugs and a giant stick insect! Thank you so much to the parents who gave up their time to drive us there and back! We were very proud of the children's fantastic behaviour and how respectful they were of the insects.
